Her 2018 young adult novel, “The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein,” winner of the prestigious Bram Stoker award, has been optioned by Sony Pictures TV. That’s why she is diversifying from the young adult niche that characterized her “And I Darken” trilogy, her “Slayer” series and “The Camelot Rising Trilogy.” “My goal always has been to have writing be part of the rest of my life,” White says. Plus, she is launching a book series aimed at middle-grade kids, ages 8 to 12: “Sinister Summer: Fathoms of Fear,” also published by Delacorte and set to debut next June. She excitedly awaits publication next May of her first adult novel, “Hide,” a hide-and-seek horror story set in an abandoned amusement park. White’s book, “The Excalibur Curse,” her conclusion to a fantasy trilogy featuring a powerfully re-imagined version of Camelot’s Guinevere, is due to be released by Delacorte Press in December. It’s not like she didn’t have a lot of great projects in the works. She was sworn to secrecy until the official announcement four months later. But White couldn’t tell anyone what she was screaming about. I never even considered him a possibility. “I could never have imagined they’d give me Obi-Wan.
